Some of the things that are important to me, as far as a home-based business is concerned are:

• I need to be able to have customers from day one so that I can start earning a commission cheque straight away.
  The company that I deal with need to have been around over 5 years. New start-ups have a higher risk of going out of business than long-established businesses.
  The company needs to be debt free so that I am not worried that it'll disapear on me if the bank calls in any loans they have.
  The company that I am connected with will provide regular back-up support to my customers for me as an on-going matter - at no extra cost to me.
  Other independent people in the business will be able to help me get established and will be there for me whenever I need help/ advice/ support.

I'm sure that there are others that I could add but off the top-of-my-head, these were the top priority things.

I wish that my business has a considerable count of target audience. In that case only, I can come out with number of sellers from the audience count. If possible for anyone, do lemme know the business where such thing is possible in the initial stage only.

Target audience and enough resources to make use of. I believe that without resources, u cannot increase the count of your clientele. And the profit margin is hit considerably. So, do give a thought to resources too.

Before starting any business one should do lot of ground work such as collecting all documents , getting your business registered etc. I believe one should also take the advice of success marketing people. so that we can avoid mistakes when developing our new business.
